My name is Linda Daniels, originally from Birmingham, I have lived in the Bristol area since 1974. I have 2 grown up sons and 2 grandchildren
Now retired I have taken on a new role, I have trained as an Independent Funeral Celebrant. I attended a training course with greenfuse*, near their base inTotnes, Devon.
I feel very strongly that when we loose someone very dear to us, whether it is a spouse, partner, family member or a friend, not only should we mourn their passing but we should celebrate their life and what they have achieved. Becoming a Funeral Celebrant, allows me to help people who are dealing with the loss of a loved one, have a ceremony that truly reflects the life of the person who has died and helps those left behind begin to cope with the loss of someone dear to them.
* "greenfuse is run by Totnes based couple Jane Morrell and Simon Smith, authors of " We Need to Talk About the Funeral - 101 Practical Ways to Commemorate and Celebrate a Life". greenfuse offers consultancy, funeral directing and celebrant training. Their celebrants offer the same service as the IoCF and the AOIC " taken from The Good Funeral Guide by Charles Cowling.
